Zettersfeld & Hochstein Lienz

The ‘World Cup mountain’ is a ski area of (almost) unlimited opportunities.

Looking for a sporting challenge? Yet prefer it to be somewhat more leisurely and want to take in more than just some rays while skiing? Or have you, without further ado, just packed up the whole kit and caboodle and all your family and headed off on a winter holiday to East Tyrol and are now looking for a family-friendly ski area? If you answered „Yes“ to one or another of these questions then the Zettersfeld & Hochstein ski area in Lienz is the ski area of your dreams.

This ski not only combines all the above-mentioned features, on a constructive level it also has something to offer – a combination of an 8-seater gondola and a 6-seater chairlift, its own ‘sun lounge’ to get some rays and the omnipresent panorama view of the Dolomites, which won’t forget in a hurry. And, by the by, it is not only the World Cup Ladies who feel as right as rain on the slalom here, ski tourers are more than at home in this area. Anyone who has ever gone on a ski tour in the moonlight for instance will have found their second home and will doubtless be back again. You will take pictures which will bring you back to East Tyrol and the ‘World Cup mountain’ time and again.

Skiing to take off

Sun-hungry ski gourmets discover a new discipline around the charming city of Lienz. Not piste kilometers, but well-groomed enjoyment is in the foreground of the terraced skiing south of the Alps. With delicious regional specialties, a relaxed honest hospitality and the magnificent panorama of the Lienz Dolomites, you are rewarded for fantastic ski runs. The whole thing with free travel on perfect slopes - a luxury almost lost.
