Swiss-Track and E-Scooters

Swiss-Track

With the Swiss-Track vehicle and the matching motorized wheelchairs from the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern, hiking becomes a breeze: Navigate even bumpy terrain with ease and observe the unspoiled nature and wildlife in the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern. The Swiss-Track is provided free of charge and offers you a truly unique experience. At the Glocknerwinkel Information Center, you can rent the Swiss-Track after a brief training session with the national park rangers—and with a little luck , you might spot ibex, eagles, or marmots. E-Scooter Oberhaus

Have limited mobility? “Experience” the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern in the Defereggental Valley!

 

To enable people with limited mobility to enjoy an outing in the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern, an e-scooter provided by the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern is available at the parking lot in Oberhaus, St. Jakob i.D. The short educational loop along the Oberhaus Swiss Stone Pine Forest Trail has been specially adapted to be accessible by this e-scooter.

 

To make a reservation, please contact the visitor services desk during the National Park Center’s opening hours. There, in addition to further information on how to use the e-scooter, you’ll receive a PIN code and instructions for setting it up on your own. Getting Here

If you are traveling by train or bus, please check in advance to make sure that the train or bus you plan to take is accessible. Not all buses and trains are equipped with a lift or ramp to ensure wheelchair-accessible boarding. You can find more information on the Austrian Federal Railways website or, if you’re traveling from Germany, on the Deutsche Bahn website. There is an elevator at the Lienz train station that allows you to easily reach your train platform or the bus station. By the way, with the Welcome Card , you can ride all buses in Osttirol completely free of charge.
