From Patsch follow the forest road for around 45 minutes through the Swiss pine forest down into the valley to Alpengasthaus Oberhaus. From here the conservation area for the Hohe Tauern National Park begins. Continue on the Alpine trail via Seebachalm to Jagdhausalm, the oldest Alpine village in Austria, which is managed by South Tirol farmers.

From Trogach on the forest trail to Gasserkofel, continuing via the meadow slopes to the Seespitzhütte (2327 m). There is a signposted path to the superb Oberseitsee (2576 m), which formed into a wide corrie trough after the glaciers retreated. To the west, past the lake, a steep path with a rope-secured section to the summit of the Seespitze, the most impressive viewing mountain on the Panargen ridge.

Summit in the Lasörlingkamm ridge above St. Veit. The Speikboden is a much-visited viewing area with a lovely view to the Großglockner, Großvenediger, Hochgall and Ortler.
