In autumn, the cows, sheep and goats return from the pastures, and in the fields the crops are harvested. Convivial and religious festivals throughout the country bring down the sadness about the passing summer. The farmers will gladly share their joy with you, and thus they invite guests all over the country to enjoy entertaining festivities that particularly delight connoisseurs. The focus is on potatoes, apples, plums, bacon, cheese and mountain lamb specialties, such as the classic Schöpsenbraten, which is served with East Tyrolean potatoes of the “OSKAR” cultivar. Thanks to the special potato cultivar and the East Tyrolean mountain lamb, East Tyrol is one of the selected regions in Austria for enjoyment.
