Osttirol de luxe - Austria's longest gourmet festival on the main square in Lienz

Culinary summer retreat | 17 July to 22 August 2025

Osttirol's top chefs, accompanied by renowned guest chefs from all over Austria, present their summer creations on the main square in Lienz. For five weeks, they serve excellent dishesmade from regional products in the gourmet pavilions, combining regionality with sophisticated culinary compositions.
 

In summer 2025, Lienz's main square will once again become the stage for top-class culinary art – all in the name of the ‘Piazza Gourmet’. Osttirol's celebrated top chefs will serve culinary highlights that will make food lovers' hearts beat faster. The gourmet experience will be complemented by top chefs from neighbouring regions such as South Tyrol, Carinthia, Salzburg and Styria, who will bring fresh ideas to the ‘Culinary Summer Retreat 2025’. In total, the country's longest gourmet festival boasts an impressive 28 Gault Millau toques and 35 Falstaff forks – a testament to culinary artistry at the highest level.

 

Throughout the festival, visitors can look over the shoulders of 25 outstanding chefs and let themselves be seduced by the diversity and sophistication of Alpine cuisine every day.

Osttirol de luxe focuses on and strengthens the importance of authentic, regional products and ingredients and sees itself as a trendsetter and platform for a network between local producers, agriculture and gastronomy. Osttirol de luxe brings regional cuisine to life and places the region and its excellent products at the center of attention.

 

The historic Biedermeier pavilions are an attractive eye-catcher: a fully equipped kitchen pavilion where you can watch the "who's who" of the local cooking elite preparetheir culinary delights on 4m2 . In addition, the "Bar de luxe" offers exquisite drinks, fine wines and excellent, award-winning local spirits.

Promotion of young gastronomic talent

To counteract the dwindling enthusiasm for gastronomy and tourism and to encourage young people to take an interest in the culinary trade, the Osttirol de luxe association is once again offering one-day taster internships this year as part of the "Culinary Summer Retreat". Interested girls and boys can not only look over the shoulders of top chefs for a day on the main square, but also get hands-on experience under expert guidance.
