The historical tour continues to Liebburg Castle, located right in the middle of the main square. Formerly the residence of the Counts of Wolkenstein-Rodenegg, the castle now serves as Lienz’s city hall and, in winter, as the venue for the popular Advent calendar, which showcases 24 works by local artists. If you’d like to get to know Lienz even better, take a guided tour with Count Leo, where you can immerse yourself in the city’s history. In addition to numerous cultural attractions, such as Bruck Castle, the Vitalpinum, the Kammerlanderhof, and Aguntum, Lienz also captivates visitors with its vibrant coffeehouse culture.

Enjoy coffee and cake at one of the well-established restaurants and soak up the Mediterranean atmosphere while taking in the breathtaking view of the rugged mountain ranges. Stroll through this town in the Dolomites, where over 2,000 hours of sunshine await you; visit the small boutiques offering personalized service; or take a leisurely walk through the picturesque alleyways with a scoop of ice cream in hand—alleys that are adorned with festive Christmas lights during the holiday season. In winter, the Advent market also awaits you on the main square , where vendors offer not only mulled wine, cotton candy, and roasted almonds but also homemade, original gift ideas and traditional handicrafts.
