The hike starts in St. Jakob in Defereggen in the district of Außerberg. You hike through a uniquely charming mountain landscape of dark rocky peaks, bright waters and particularly colorful mountain flora. On the ascent over the sunny side, the view of the mighty mountains of the Lasörling group accompanies us. To the north is a former mining area, where there is also the opportunity to make a detour to the miners' houses. Via the flat high-altitude trail high above the Trojer Almen, the trail continues to the Neue Reichenberger Hütte. There, after a refreshment, you have the opportunity to climb the Hüttenberg, the towering Gösleswand (2.913 m).
