Description

The Garaneberkopf (often referred to as the ‘Graneberkopf’) is certainly one of the easier 3,000-metre peaks. The summit lies just in front of the imposing Weißspitze and can be climbed in conjunction with the Seewandspitze. The ascent starts from the Eisseehütte, initially following the standard hiking trail No. 25 to the Eissee, then turns into the north-eastern high valley before veering left. At the junction, there is a red marker (labelled ‘Seewandspitze’). The subsequent short ascent is clearly visible, but runs across open terrain. From the summit plateau, you can head left towards the Seewandspitze or right towards the Garaneberkopf. From the summit, there is a breathtaking view of the Eissee and the entire Timmeltal valley.
