It is the only central hut in the southern Granatspitzgroup.
The Sudentendeutsche Hut is located at 2,650 metres above sea level in a magnificent panoramic location.
The hut, run by the DAV Schwaben, is located in the southern part of the Granatspitzgruppe, between the Venedigergruppe and Glocknergruppe, south of the Tauern main ridge between the Felbertauerntunnel and the Rudolfshütte in the north and the two towns of Matrei in Osttirol and Kals am Großglockner in the south. In this location, the Alpine Club hut is the perfect starting point for the easily accessible 3.000-metre peaks of the Muntanitzgruppe, which offer interesting climbing tours of varying degrees of difficulty as well as high-alpine ski tours. The hut, which is open from mid-June to mid-September, has 43 beds, and members of alpine clubs stay at a reduced rate.
Facilities: 20 beds in dormitories and 23 beds in shared rooms.
Cash payment.
