Mountain hut enjoyment on the sunny side of St. Veit

The Speikbodenhütte is situated on the sunny side of the Defereggental above St. Veit i. D. at an altitude of 2,050 m. The hosts prepare a memorable experience in the mountains for their guests with hearty home-cooked meals and a cozy atmosphere.
The Speikbodenhütte is also an ideal starting point for many large and small mountain tours in the Lasörling group and is located on the way to the local mountain "Speikboden" - 2,653 m. A rewarding mountain tour also leads to the Gritzer lakes.

Access by car is only allowed in summer to the Speikbodenhütte

- from St. Veit i. D. - Parking Oberholz - via the marked forest path, approximately 1.5 hours


Even in winter, the Speikbodenhütte is a popular destination for tobogganists, winter hikers, and ski tourers. The adjacent 3.7 km long toboggan run invites you to enjoy tobogganing followed by a visit to the hut!
