At an altitude of 2,327 meters, nestled in the impressive mountains of the Hohe Tauern National Park, the Seespitzhütte lies at the foot of the distinctive Seespitze (3,021 m) in the Venediger group.
The surroundings of the hut invite you to linger with colorful alpine meadows and delight with the idyllic Oberseitsee above the hut.
On the sunny terraces or in the rustic parlor, freshly prepared dishes and regional specialties are served during the day. The deliberately small menu focuses on classic Tyrolean dishes, with vegetarian and vegan options also available.
For guests who wish to stay overnight, 13 single beds are available in a cozy dormitory – ideal for all who appreciate an authentic and cozy hut atmosphere.
Ascent & Tours:
From the parking lot at the Jausenstation Jagastube above St. Jakob, the hut is reachable in about two hours (around 600 meters of elevation gain) – a route that is also well-suited for families. Alternatively, paths from Erlsbach take about three hours, or from the Trojeralm parking lot via the Alpine flower trail leads to the hut in three to four hours. From there, the Seespitze, the Weiße Beil, and the Oberseitsee are available as tour destinations.
