"Pastorale" - concert by the orchestra 'Sinfonieorchester Lienz'

Osttirol's landscape becomes a stage: The Lienz Symphony Orchestra plays Beethoven's "Pastoral" with images from the region.

On 21st and 22nd November 2026, the Lienz Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Gerald Mair, will connect a complete concert program with a specially produced visual component for the first time in the "Stadtsaal" hall in Lienz. The native East Tyrolean photographer and videographer Sascha Schernthaner filmed throughout Osttirol over several weeks and months for this project. Featured works include Bedřich Smetana's "From Bohemia's Wood and Fields" and Ludwig van Beethoven's 6th Symphony, the "Pastoral."

The orchestra, under the direction of Gerald Mair, is already in the rehearsal phase. Around 50 musicians from Osttirol, Carinthia, and South Tyrol will be heard this time.
