You would like to know Lesachtal valley in wintertime from its most beautiful side? The Lesachtal valley Alpine School and its manager Ortner Helmut make it possible. Helmut made a job out of his hobbies. Besides first ascents and accesses till level 8 he also climbed on 8463 m high Makalu and climbed across the north wall of 8585 m high Kangchendzönga. Ski-tours: Skiing in deep snow is beautiful but it gets more beautiful when you made the ascent all by yourself. The valley is deeply snow covered in winter and tours are possible from December to mid-April. Snowshoe hikes: You can explore mountains also in wintertime. With modern and light snowshoes you can get almost everywhere in winter. The Gailtal valley Alps with its gentle hillsides are an ideal place for beginners. You’ll find programmes on our website.
