Experience unforgettable vacation days at the Oberforcherhof in Leisach – a place where nature, relaxation, and warm hospitality come together. Our farm, colloquially known as “Oberforcher,” is located at 1,100m directly on the Pustertaler Höhenstraße, above the Lienzer Klause, and only about a 10-minute drive from the sunny town of Lienz.
Nestled in the impressive mountain landscape of East Tyrol, the Oberforcherhof offers the perfect getaway from everyday life.
We rent three lovingly renovated vacation apartments that accommodate up to three adults or two adults and up to two children (with a pull-out couch). The alpine charm of our accommodations, combined with modern comfort, creates a cozy atmosphere where you will feel at home from the very first moment. Families, nature lovers, and those seeking tranquility particularly appreciate the relaxed surroundings and proximity to nature.

Brief history of our farm
According to genealogical research, the Oberforcherhof appears for the first time around 1380 in a list from Gorizia (directory of military conscripts). Over the centuries, the farm was self-sufficient. Located on a sunny slope and light soils, all grain varieties and some fruit thrived.
The former forest ownership reportedly consisted predominantly of pines (in local dialect, Forche). This is likely where the house name “Forcher” derives. It can also be found in our family name Oberforcher and in our coat of arms, which depicts a squirrel sitting on a pine tree.
