Description

Starting from St. Oswald, the stage first leads along a meadow path to Kartitsch, where the parish church of St. Leonhard is located. From there, after crossing the main road, continue towards Kanter/Schuster. From there, we reach the pilgrimage church of Hollbruck via the Hollbrucker Landesstraße.

After a rest and a visit to the richly decorated Baroque church, we take paths 14 and 467 down into the Puster Valley to Rabland, from where we continue on the right side of the Drau river, past the butterfly meadow towards Sillian. In the village of Sillian, the path leads us up to the parish church of Maria Himmelfahrt. We are now halfway there.

The second part of the trail takes us from the parish church uphill to Kopsgute. We follow trail no. 1 towards Arnbach. At the Drau cycle path, we cross the bridge to the south side of the Drau and walk along the right bank of the Drau on the riverside path, following the signs to Winnebach. There we switch to the Herrnsteigl, which takes us to Vierschach. At the train station in Vierschach, we take the underpass to the ‘Vierschacher Zentrum’ and arrive on the orographic right side of the Drau. From here, we follow the cycle/valley hiking trail across the fields to Innichen, with the Romanesque tower of the monastery always in view.
