Osttirol Tourism Association Relys on Local Ski Elite

TVB Osttirol supports local young ski athletes through title sponsorship

The Osttirol Tourism Association (TVB Osttirol) has decided to support three up-and-coming talents from the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) with title sponsorship for the upcoming winter season. In collaboration with the ÖSV, contractual terms were established to secure the Osttirol junior athletes Sophia Waldauf, Nicolas Tabernig, and Kilian Pramstaller as brand ambassadors .

In addition to the title sponsorship, the athletes will also be involved in other promotional activities organized by TVB Osttirol to further strengthen the region’s reputation as a ski destination. A few days ago, Kilian Pramstaller and Nicolas Tabernig met with Chairman Franz Theurl, Board Member Thomas Winkler, and the marketing team at the TVB office in Lienz to kick off the partnership. Sophia Waldauf was unable to attend due to an injury but is working hard on her comeback.

Osttirol's rising stars in the world of alpine skiing proudly showcased the Osttirol brand.

Slalom specialist Kilian Pramstaller turned heads last season with several solid performances in the European Cup. He finished in the top 15 in both the slalom races in Berchtesgaden and Oberjoch, securing important points in the European Cupand secured his spots in the World Cup classics—the Night Race in Schladming and the Ganslernhang in Kitzbühel. For the upcoming season, he has set his sights on further establishing himself in the World Cup and consistently delivering strong performances in national and international competitions.

Up-and-coming talent Nicolas Tabernig focuses on the giant slalom discipline and drew attention to himself last season with strong finishes on the FIS circuit. Particularly noteworthy is his 7th-place finish in the FIS giant slalom in Innerkrems, where he held his own against a strong international field. He also gained his first important experience in the European Cup and will aim to continue improving there in the coming season.

Due to an injury,Sophia Waldauf is Osttirol’s rising star as she works her way back to competition. Sophia has long been a spokesperson for the Osttirol Tourism Association. Her training performances in the spring of 2023, in particular, raised hopes for a breakthrough in the World Cup. The 20-year-old, who specializes in the speed disciplines (super-G and downhill), has already achieved top-10 finishes at national championships and FIS races.

She is currently working on her comeback and hopes to be able to return to full competition soon.

TVB Osttirol is committed to promoting young talent

TVB Chairman Franz Theurl is pleased with the partnership: “Both the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board warmly welcomed the decision to sign local ski athletes. We expect this to further strengthen our position as a ski destination, and we’re proud to support such promising young athletes from the region.” Through its partnership with these young athletes, the TVB Osttirol aims not only to promote skiing in the region but also to make a clear commitment to supporting local talent.
