When it comes to tobogganing in the Lienz Dolomites, then inevitably the children’s song writer Rolf Zuckowski comes to mind. In a well-known children’s song he extolled winter and the joy (of the first snow). The children in this song conclude that when the snow first arrives, and casts such a superb spell over the landscape, then they definitely have to get out tobogganing. Yes, your heard correctly - not skiing, not ice-skating, but tobogganing is the first and most important option stated here. And anyone who knows about the toboggan runs in the Lienz Dolomites, can more than understand this commanding position. From a challenging toboggan route through to a family-friendly, somewhat leisurely toboggan outing – it’s all available here!
The natural toboggan run in Tristach is now ready; similarly in Lienz, with the ‘Hochstein-Buchwaldweg’ and ‘Hochstein-Schlossberg’ routes, there are two interesting toboggan routes. In Amlach and Leisach you ought to head to the Lienz Dolomites natural toboggan run, while in Iselsberg-Stronach the Lugger Alm toboggan run tempts you to head out and enjoy a few tobogganing sessions. Or maybe you’d prefer the ‘Neuer Rabantweg’ toboggan route in Nikolsdorf? In the Lienz Dolomites you are spoilt for choice when it comes to tobogganing. Maybe you should give all the toboggan runs a go, one by one. It would certainly be worth it.
