Santner Almhütte - Innergschlöß

Nestled in the heart of a picturesque alpine hamlet, the charming Santner Alpine Hut has been lovingly preserved in the unspoilt Gschlöß Valley of East Tyrol. Surrounded by majestic mountains, crystal-clear mountain streams and centuries-old alpine huts, this unique mountain retreat offers an unforgettable escape into nature.

Even the journey to this self-catering alpine hut is a memorable experience. Following the Tauernbach stream, the route leads through the breathtaking Innergschlöß Valley, passing rushing waterfalls and spectacular alpine scenery. Along the way, you will come across the healing Frauenbrünndl spring and the charming rock chapel, carved directly into the mountainside in 1870.

The cosy open-plan kitchen and living area, complete with a traditional wood-burning stove, invites you to cook, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. A comfortable seating area and the traditional heated stove bench create an authentic alpine atmosphere. On the same floor, you will find one double bedroom and a bathroom with shower and toilet. A wooden staircase leads to the open loft, where two additional double beds provide sleeping accommodation.

Relax on the balcony, soak up the sunshine and admire the breathtaking mountain scenery. From here, you can enjoy magnificent views stretching all the way to Großvenediger, one of the highest peaks in Austria. The balcony also provides access to a second toilet – a traditional outdoor pit toilet. A private garage is available for one car. Hot water is supplied by a gas heater.

Electricity is generated by a photovoltaic (solar) system. Surplus energy is stored to provide power during the night and in poor weather conditions, ensuring reliable lighting throughout the hut.

Just around the corner, a cosy mountain inn invites you to enjoy regional specialities, homemade pastries and traditional Tyrolean snacks.
