The "Tiroler family nest" of Hochpustertal is known as the most family-friendly valley in Osttirol. Because in this vacation adventure world, everything revolves around the little guests - the "gnomes", as the locals affectionately call the children here. Under the motto "Mountains for dwarves", little adventurers and mountain enthusiasts experience the most exciting vacation of their lives here.

Nineteen vacation resorts belong to the Tiroler Familiennester association. Each of these resorts employs child carers in summer who invite all young guests to take part in nature-oriented and imaginative play programs. Guests stay in certified hotels, guesthouses and farms.
This creates a cross-structural combination. Accommodation providers - i.e. hotels, guesthouses, farms - must fulfill a long list of criteria as "nest partners", which are continuously checked. Tourism associations run a high-level children's leisure program for their partner businesses, and this program is also audited.
The association is committed to high quality standards, further training, advice, testing and coaching. Special training for child carers ensures that a new play theme with a strong connection to nature is implemented to a high standard every year.
“Spinne Spinnfried” - Ein Netz aus Mut und Freundschaft
Die schüchterne Spinne Spinnfried wohnt auf dem Dachboden eines kleinen Hauses. Nur hinaus traut er sich nicht. Er ist ein echter Künstler und spinnt die schönsten Netze. Eines Morgens öffnet er das Fenster und ein starker Windstoß zerrt an einem seiner schönsten Netze. Er zögert nicht lange, springt zitternd auf, zieht sich seine acht bunten Socken an, nimmt seinen ganzen Mut zusammen und klettert zum Fenster. Mit einem ganz langen Spinnfaden lässt er sich hinab – und landet draußen. Draußen! Die Welt riecht nach Erde und Abenteuer. Er hat wirklich Angst, weil alles so groß ist und so laut. Und so neu.
Er lernt Konrad Käfer und Mira Moorspinne kennen und sie bestaunen seine Kunstwerke. Auch die Kinder des Hauses in dem Spinnfried wohnt, lernen ihn kennen sind begeistert wie freundlich die Spinnen Spinnfried ist.
So hat nicht nur Spinnfried seine Angst verloren - auch die Kinder haben gelernt, dass Spinnen keine Monster sind, sondern friedliche, kunstvolle und ziemlich mutige kleine Wesen. Ab diesem Tag ist Spinnfried nie mehr allein und ist über glücklich, dass er endlich mutig war.
Loving care for the little ones
Our child carers are constantly undergoing extensive training, during which they learn a new play theme every year. With our nest supervisors Engelbert and Sarah, children experience new adventures almost every day. Engelbert also runs the gnome express, which takes you from the accommodation to the various play areas.
