9932 Innervillgraten
Building culture, innovation, and rural work culture are the content of the facilities in the area at the entrance to the Arntal in Innervillgraten. Lodenstampf, mill, farm, alpine hut, and entrance house have been built, remodeled, and maintained in recent months and years. The start of the development of the open-air museum was the restoration of the Wegelate saw, the centerpiece of the ensemble, which was built in 1883.
Interested visitors can experience the restored stations – particularly the listed Wegelate saw as the last Venetian sawmill in Austria – during guided tours and immerse themselves in the fascinating history of Alpine life in Innervillgraten.

Innovation from yesterday in today!
In the area of the open-air museum, at the entrance to the Arntal in Innervillgraten, visitors experience a world full of fascinating stories and unforgettable experiences - tradition and craftsmanship come to life in an impressive way here.
It is a journey into the past, before electric power reached the region and water stood as the sole source of energy.
An ensemble consisting of a mill, a Venetian sawmill, a cloth fulling mill, a mountain hut, and a farmstead showcases life in the Alps of past times with all its challenges, crafts, traditions, agricultural tools, wooden constructions, and the power of water.
The exhibits in the mountain hut and farmstead, including a variety of agricultural items, help illustrate the connection between past and present.
Visitors can not only see the elements of water, wood, grain, and wool, but also feel and experience how they were used in that time through regular demonstrations.
The open-air museum "ALPINES LEBEN" Innervillgraten offers fascinating insights into the past - a unique experience!
