"Rose" - Exhibition by Lois Salcher
A rose, symbol of delicate vitality, marks the exhibition with which the renowned Lienz artist Lois Salcher presents his new works starting June 20 at the Gallery in the Middle in Hopfgarten i.D.
Life and work have been devoted to color by Salcher like hardly any other artist.
Finest layers stacked on top of each other create far more than just surface and represent his central element of expression.
The reduction of form to minimal allusions allows for the emergence of deep yet soft color spaces, born from a highly inner, concentrated working method.
Years of experience with all the nuances of the individually crafted color components and the constant exploration of their possibilities and effects are gathered intimately and intensively in the new works, to which the Gallery in the Middle now invites - a stimulus for seeing, feeling, perceiving, and letting act.
Lois Salcher, born 1951, studied painting and graphics at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. He has been awarded numerous prizes – he received the Austrian Graphic Prize four times – and has a remarkable exhibition activity in renowned galleries.
Lois Salcher lives and works in Lienz and is considered one of the most significant visual artists in Tyrol.
