In the rear Defereggental, one hikes with the National Park Rangers through the Oberhauser Zirbenwald, past pastures and ancient stone walls to the Klein Tibet of the Alps - the Jagdhausalm. The 16 stone houses and the rustic Maria-Hilf chapel are nestled in a picturesque natural setting at an altitude of 2,000 m and are among the oldest alpine pastures in Austria. Those who wish can visit the popular photo motif Pfauenauge - a round lake behind a moraine wall - after a short ascent.
