The Thurntaler Rast, our mountain inn in the middle of the Thurntaler ski and hiking area - the heart of the Villgrater Hausberg at 2,000m:

End your vacation day comfortably in our mountain inn after a hike to the "3 Lakes" (1h) or "Around the Thurntaler" (up to 5h):

Typical dishes of Tyrolean cuisine (e.g., Schlipfkrapfen, Tyrolean geröstel, …), but also vegetarian and vegan dishes can be found on our menu. Enjoy a Kaiserschmarrn or another dessert on our sun terrace as a crowning finale while taking in the unique mountain panorama overlooking the Villgrater Mountains, the Carnic Alps, and the Dolomites. Of course, the little ones won't miss out either... While your meal is lovingly prepared in the kitchen, the children can have fun on the playground right outside the door.

You can drive to Thurntaler Rast in summer and winter from Außervillgraten via the approximately 6km long, toll-free, asphalted mountain road. On the operating days of the "Hochpustertaler Bergbahnen," the Thurntaler Rast and the associated panoramic restaurant "Gadein" can be reached by cable car from Sillian.

Our 5 apartments Herz-Ass, Ahorn, Zirbe, Fichte, and Lärche in the basement of the Thurntaler Rast, as well as our rustic mountain hut, the "Hofelet-Alm," are very popular because both the ski slope in winter and the first hiking routes in summer are right at the doorstep.
