Stadtkultur Lienz invites you to a special concert at the church Spitalskirche Lienz on Thursday, 3rd September 2026, at 8.00 p.m.
The former preservation association is donating a new organ to the Lienz town, which will resonate publicly for the first time that evening.
With three manuals, a 32-tone pedal, and 60 stop controls, the electronic instrument from the renowned manufacturer Viscount offers an extraordinary variety of organ sounds. The organist Hannes Christian Hadwiger will present the new and probably most acoustically versatile instrument in East Tyrol.
The program features selected works by Justinus Will, who also worked in Lienz, Johann Sebastian Bach, Max Reger, Joseph Bonnet, and Pēteris Vasks. The selection spans a musical arc from the Baroque period to the present and makes both the stylistic diversity of organ music and the development and expansion of its musical possibilities audible.
Tickets are available at the "Bürgerservice" office in the Municipality at the advance sale price of € 20,00 if picked up by 11.00 a.m. on 3rd September 2026.
Tickets at the box office: € 25,00 (also applies to reserved tickets).
