The Schwarzer family distillery can look back on a long tradition. Rudolf Schwarzer is the fourth generation to distil his coveted fruit schnapps and has also been producing his own rum since 2005. In addition to the classic fruit brandies, he also produces his own creations with ginger, lemongrass or blood orange.

The distillery in the historic centre of Lienz was taken over by the Schwarzer family from Ferdinand Probst, one of the most famous schnapps distillers of the 19th century. His speciality, "Der Bitter", is still produced today according to the original recipe. Schwarzer's grandfather was a South Tyrolean winegrower who took over the "1st Tyrolean regional distillery", where his grandson still produces his fine spirits.
