Long "Krapfen"

Ingredients for 20 pieces:

500 g wheat flour, plain
125 g rye flour
1 egg
1/2 l cream
salt, bread spice
3/4 pkg. yeast
1 pinch sugar
milk lukewarm, as needed
1 cl rum
For baking: oil heatable to 180 °C


Prepare a smooth yeast dough from all the ingredients - add enough lukewarm milk to make a smooth dough. Leave the dough to rise for 1 hour in a warm place. Form 5 cm thick rolls from the dough and cut into 1 to 2 cm long pieces, roll them out with a rolling pin and leave to rise again for 30 minutes in a warm place. Heat oil in a large pan, put the "Krapfen" in and bake until golden brown on both sides.
