National Park Ranger tours in winter

Through the Hohe Tauern National Park with a ranger

Regarded as an insider tip, the region of East Tyrol stands out thanks to its natural features. It is genuine, original and authentic. On guided tours with rangers there are so many options to re-energise and enjoy renewed vigour, far removed from the stresses of the daily grind. National Park rangers provide inspiration with their special expertise in natural science and thanks to their many years of experience and knowledge in this sector, know all the special features in the Alpine National Park.

The rangers have been trained to perform the ranger tours according to the COVID-19 regulations in a specific seminar. The excursions in theNational Park are carried out contactlessly, in compliance with the required minimum distance and the respective valid guidelines of the Federal Government.

Winter highlights

An excerpt from the programme

Sunrise hike in snow-shoes with a National Park Ranger

Hohe Tauern National Park lights up in the evening sunshine, while the sun sinks behind the deep snow-covered summits in Iseltal. The yellow, orange hues of the sunset immerse the unique panorama of the Schober group and the Lienz Dolomites in a magical atmosphere. Before the bright starry sky emerges, a ranger tells you exciting stories about the survival strategies that chamois, foxes and snow hares use to survive the snowy depths of winter. Discover the animal tracks together and find out which Alpine inhabitant they belong to.

Ascend in a mono-cable gondola and in a chairlift to the "Steinermandl". Afterwards enjoy a sunset hike in snow-shoes, accompanied by a National Park ranger, heading along the mountain ridge to the "Naturfreundehütte".
