Three hosts, scattered in the region between Hohe Tauern and the “family nest” of Tyrol “Hochpustertal”, focus on recuperation, adventure and the experience of nature. These hotels have been dealing with accommodation for families in East Tyrol for the last 12 years, thus gathering enough experience to offer suitable programmes for a family holiday, in this region between the Großglockner and Lienzer Dolomites.

The holiday region “Hochpustertal” offers interesting programmes, such as the adventurous “smugglers’ tour”. It follows the tracks of smugglers, who illegally brought goods over the border in the cover of darkness and fog.
The family-friendly hosts have also “famous” prices: a 10% discount is available for the family, who decides to stay more than 3 nights, aside from high or low season. Vouchers can be obtained at the Tourist Office.
The “Wichtl”, a traditional lovely gnome, is the symbol of the programme for families of the “Hochpustertal”. The “Wichtelpark”, the “park of the gnomes”, with many opportunities for children to play, was built, whereas the “Wichtelexpress” transports all the family to the Wonky Tonky River to have a go at gold panning.
While children tire themselves out playing, parents can cook their meal over charcoal at the barbecue place for free. They need to make a reservation at the Tourist Office.
