From Hochstein car park, past Bruck castle, there follows a climb, steadily uphill through the forest. At the junction for Taxer Gasl continue up to Hochsteinhütte, where there is a short section where you have to carry the bike. The descent then follows via Hochsteinstraße to Bannberg, continuing on the Drau cycle trail back to Lienz.
