Ice crag East Tyrol

Austria's biggest artifical ice crag let the athlete's heart beat faster.

In additon to numerous other icy waterfalls which are in a favoured altitude and partially sheaded valleys all over East Tyrol, offers this ice crag, opened in January 2016, optimum conditions to all ice climbing fans.

The perfect location....

It took a whole your to find the perfect location - finally it was found behind the Matreier Tauernhaus - reachable in about 20 minutes walking distance.

The artifical ice waterfalls are produced by a light drizzle by water pipelines. After freezing they are offering an icy wall included about 50 routes on a small area.

A fact to point out is, that the guaranteed ice at the Eispark Osttirol distinguishes it from similar projects. Vittorio Messini and Mathias Wurzer (Kalser mountain guides) agree that the Eispark Osttirol is to be climbed in a warm winter as well.
