Spectacular trails, stunning passes, well-known stage locations, professional event structure and participants from over 30 countries making this event a unique and unforgettable experience. In the last 19 years the TOUR Transalp has developed to one of the most famous and best known bicycle event. The fascinating alpine crossing is the absolute highlight for every amateur racing cyclist and provides an ideal communication platform for media and sponsors.
„Riding the TOUR Transalp once in a lifetime“ is for many cyclists an individual goal of life for which they must train and prepare themselves. Apart from the own sporty challenge, especially the fun, the fascination of the route and the team spirit were the main aspects.
The TOUR Transalp 2023 is full of differences, surprising changes of scenery on a route through mountain landscapes that leave completely different images in the memory. The route scrapes past the glaciers of the Hohe Tauern, penetrates deep into the heart of the Dolomites, lined by their rugged peaks, which for many form the most beautiful mountains in the world. But it also takes you to the Prosecco vines in Veneto, to the vineyards around Lake Kaltern, through the apple orchards in Val di Non and across the alpine pastures on the plateau of Asiago and Lavarone. On the same day, first the cool mountain air and then the warm south wind blow around your ears. And the next day it's the other way round again. You have to be prepared for things to turn out differently at the end of the day than you imagined at the beginning. But that is exactly the attraction of the Transalp adventure - the ride into the unknown. This adventure is in the genes of the 2023 edition. In the mood for boredom? Then you're in the wrong place. You love excitement? Yeah! Go for it!

On the first stage of the TOUR Transalp from Lienz to Sillian we celebrate two premieres: Not only Lienz is a new location, but also the first two thirds of the stage have never been part of the TOUR Transalp before: It goes into one of the great valleys of East Tyrol, the Defereggen valley.
The route digs its way into the mountains from east to west and creates an access to the Hohe Tauern, whose peaks stretch up more than 3000 metres on the northern flank - a landscape experience of the honour category and pure nature!
