Insider tip Osttirol

Dear travel journalists, dear bloggers!

Do you know why I think my home is special? Osttirol is different! Different from the rest of Austria. Different from North and South Tyrol. Different from what is commonly expected of mountain regions.

Since time immemorial, we East Tyroleans have seen our homeland not only as a tourist region, but first and foremost as a place to live. And it is important to preserve it.For us, sustainability is not just a task, but a living tradition. East Tyrol is authentic, original and boundless. We East Tyroleans are people of character and love our homeland. Our traditions, but also our pure nature. We want to leave as small an ecological footprint as possible and rely on gentle, nature-oriented tourism. East Tyrol is a natural refuge of well-being and gives exhausted work heroes strength for everyday life.

For many, rest is a foreign word and we can hardly escape the digital overstimulation. To increase our well-being, we need natural(ish) space. Space to breathe. That's exactly what Osttirol offers. Places where you can concentrate on the essentials in harmony with nature and find yourself again. Our mountains, forests and waters are the source of unique experiences. Take a look at our map. You will be surprised.
