At the 8th Austria Ski Touring Festival once again it is all about ski touring. It brings experts and amateur sportspeople together – for morefun and safety on the mountain.Visitors could try out the most beautiful routes on site together with the Osttirol mountain and ski guides. With a new format featuring live digital broadcastingexpert talks, live discussion rounds and live tours - these will be broadcast worldwide via the K19 channel - the 8th Austria Ski Touring Festival reaches a new dimension and once again puts Osttirol in the spotlight as Austria's most beautiful ski touring destination.

Osttirol with its 266 three-thousand-metre peaks has long been established as a ski touring region. Countless tours await you with views of Grossglockner, Grossvenediger and the Dolomites, slopes with deep snow entice you to leave your trails there.  With the 8th Austria Ski Touring Festival on 27.-30. January 2022, Osttirol will focus on safety and alpine competence and bring the sport closer to a broad audience.

 

A total of 3 venues are new: Kals am Großglockner, Innervillgraten and St. Jakob im Defereggental. Every ski touring enthusiast can choose "his" starting point - the best snow conditions, the mountain and ski guides and the Osttirol hosts await you. 

Experience the most beautiful ski tours in the Villgratental, Defereggental and Kalser Tal as part of the guided ski tours with the Osttirol mountain and ski guides. The ski tour destinations will be selected and announced by the mountain and ski guides the day before, depending on the weather and snow conditions as well as the ability of the participants. Participation in the 8th Austria Ski Touring Festival is at your own risk; the organiser assumes no liability whatsoever.

5.00-7.00 p.m.: "come together" with the Osttirol mountain and ski guides in the Stüdlsaal of the municipality of Kals am Großglockner and in the municipal hall of Innervillgraten and St. Jakob im Defereggental.

Program presentation, organisational information, group allocation, impressions of the highlight ski tours from the valleys of Osttirol

 

Friday, 28th January 2022

08.30 a.m.: Guided ski tours in the Kalser Tal, Villgratental and Defereggental with the Osttirol mountain and ski guides.

Safety instructions on how to behave on the mountain, the correct use of avalanche transceivers and a small avalanche exercise are also on the program.

 

5.00-7.00 p.m.: "come together" in the Stüdlsaal of the municipality of Kals am Großglockner and in the municipal hall of Innervillgraten and St. Jakob im Defereggental. Live discussion via TV broadcast from the ski touring studio with expert discussions, impressions of the day's tours, and much more.

 

Saturday, 29th January 2022

08.30 a.m.: Guided ski tours in the Kalser Tal, Villgratental and Defereggental with Osttirol mountain and ski guides incl. safety instructions.

 

5.00-7.00 p.m.: "come together" in the Stüdlsaal of the municipality of Kals am Großglockner and in the municipal hall of Innervillgraten and St. Jakob im Defereggental.
