A few of the popular hikes and hiking routes in the Hohe Tauern National Park can be found here.
We have something extra special for our Osttirol friends, fans, and guests: the memory-function on our website.
If you want to spend your holiday in the midst of the hustle and bustle please don’t come to East Tyrol. We can only offer you unspoilt natural surroundings, blissful tranquillity, superb air and excellent water. But, we do have a natural gem of extraordinary quality - the Hohe Tauern National Park. This natural gem, often termed the ‘Gem of the Alps’, spans three Austrian states - Tyrol, Salzburg and Carinthia. When we say Tyrol, what we mean is ‘East Tyrol’, which accounts for around one third of the entire surface area of the National Park.
The National Park is free for everyone to access because we trust our visitors. You won’t find any prohibitory signs since we trust that protecting nature is a personal objective for our visitors. Hikers, mountaineers and trekkers will find the best conditions – well signposted routes and alpine paths, managed alpine inns and mountain lodges. Countless routes tempt you to discover the mountains in the Hohe Tauern. Every day there are full and half-day tours with National Park rangers. Multi-day trekking tours, including luggage transport, may also be booked.
