Enjoy the East Tyrolean cuisine in more than 100 alpine huts!
We have something extra special for our Osttirol friends, fans, and guests: the memory-function on our website.
The word ‘inn’ sounds somewhat rustic. The epitome of ‘simple’, not to mention ‘primitive’. Yet the term ‘mountain inn’ conjures up romantic, almost romanticised feelings in many people. Memories of the incomparable aroma of wood, chunky pea soup and sauerkraut combined with unique, mostly social adventures. To say nothing of the deep red sunsets behind the strange rock and cloud ‘towers’ which appeal to your romantic side. For animal lovers the inns are a definite advantage. With binoculars – mostly from the terrace of the inn – you get to comfortably observe various animals in their wild setting. Chamois, marmots, maybe even an eagle circling high up in the sky. You often feel as though you are in an alpine zoo, minus the enclosures.
Granted, East Tyrol is a land of ‘lodges’. At one time built as protection for alpinists, they have in the intervening period become holiday fixed points, indeed, highlights. Hikes from lodge to lodge are attracting increasing numbers of people. The simple life in the mountains, the fresh air and the breath-taking views. All this means that a holiday in East Tyrol is beyond compare. And since getting up to these inns has become easier with a technological ‘hand’ – i.e. the lift facilities – you can get up to them without climbing for hours.
