National Park Hohe Tauern – so close to what is original

National Park Hohe Tauern is one of the most superb landscapes on earth and is a Noah’s Ark for thousands of plant and animal species. However, it is also an oasis of tranquillity for nature-oriented people – a place for relaxation and discovery. The National Park spans 1800 km² and is located in Tyrol, Carinthia and Salzburg. With over two hundred 3000 metre summits it radiates a majestic energy, and at the same time offers its visitors tranquillity. Broad glacier fields, deep green mountain lakes and impressive waterfalls with thundering glacial streams are natural jewels which are characteristic of the Hohe Tauern.

The cultural landscape which surrounds the Tauern massif is wonderful too. For centuries the people who are resident here have organised and tended to the natural framework, from valley locations through to alpine locations, helping it blend in with the natural surroundings. Yet it is not just the principal phenomenon which are provide inspiration – there are also little things and inconspicuous things which are waiting to be investigated. Everything becomes all the more impressive when you have understood it and know more about it. The National Park Hohe Tauern will uplift and relax you, yet also provide fun and an unforgettable experience!
