Tyrolean ‘Wirtshaus’ culture

Tyrol’s Wirtshaus concept is an expression of heightened gastronomic consciousness, taking visitors on a ‘very special pleasurable journey’ through East Tyrol. The ‘Tiroler Wirtshaus’ initiative stands for increased self-awareness in gastronomy throughout Tyrol. Five establishments in East Tyrol are part of this initiative and put their experience of Tyrolean hospitality to the fore; hospitality which has preserved its originality and at the same time is open to the requirements of our time.

Common to all inns is a love of Tyrolean fare, the freshness of the produce used from farms, waterbodies and forests and also the special focus on an authentic atmosphere and architecture. The 5 East Tyrolean establishments are places where people meet, of cosiness and of culinary pleasure. Together they tread a path of cultivating Tyrolean hospitality. The Tyrol Wirtshaus stands for an evolved, gastronomic culture with regional roots which is worth nurturing, with a great deal of commitment and tradition.
