At the Dreikönigsmarkt, TVB Osttirol offers guests and locals the finest entertainment ‘between the holidays’ in Lienz's old town. The Dreikönigsmarkt on Johannesplatz has become THE meeting place during the Christmas holidays. Not least because of its great music programme, varied cuisine and fine market flair.
Live music with local bands can be heard daily from 5 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on the Three Kings Market stage, on Farmers' New Year's Eve, 30 December, until 11 p.m. and on New Year's Eve until 1 a.m. There is also a Three Kings Market train, which runs through the romantically lit old town of Lienz on three days. Starting at 3 p.m., the route leads from Johannesplatz to Rudl Duregger's old smithy, where passengers can admire the nativity scene or have lucky charms for the new year forged. The Deliziosa ice cream parlour also provides hot drinks. The parade then continues through Messinggasse and Franz-von-Defregger-Straße to Schweizergasse and the Freedom Fighter Monument at the Goldener Stern inn, where host Josef Mühlmann will treat you to culinary delights. Finally, the route leads back to Johannesplatz via Schweizergasse, Egger-Lienz-Platz and Messinggasse.
The market opens on 27 December 2025 and remains open until 5 January 2026. The market is closed on New Year's Day.
