We have something extra special for our Osttirol friends, fans, and guests: the memory-function on our website.
What catches the eye of ski tourers heading through Kalser Tal, as well as the Großglockner, is undeniably the Figerhorn, with its meadowland slopes which are bathed in sunshine. Well-known among mountaineers, this tour with its flat, ski-friendly terrain is the ideal destination for beginners and for leisurely walkers, if you disregard the summit flanks.
Route start: Kalser Großglocknerstraße
Route end: Figerhorn
Another tour option proceeds from the Felbertauern south portal to the Hochgasser (2922 m). Much like its proud neighbouring summit, it is well-known beyond the borders of East Tirol, providing great snow quality even early on in the season.
Route start: Felbertauern / Südportal
Route end: Hochgasser
Ascent time from Wallhorn to Bodenalm 1 hour (560 m altitude). From there continue via the new Wallhorner Mähderweg in the Timmeltal up to Ochsnerhütte, continuing to the valley station for the goods cable car and from there up the orographic left side of the river, until you come to a steep section - often ice-hard - the Eisseehütte at 2500 m altitude.
Elegant ski tour with wonderful views to the summits of the Großvenediger.
Route start: Parkplatz Wallhorn 1.400 m
Route end: Weißspitze 3.300 m
Starting from the small car park, proceed either via the ski route or via the road, or climb directly through the forest (steep!) up to Marcher Alm.
Much-visited local mountain for the people of Virgen
Route start: Parkplatz March
Route end: Berger Kogel
