We have something extra special for our Osttirol friends, fans, and guests: the memory-function on our website.
In romantic, variety-packed sections through the snow-covered woodland and via open fields, ascending and descending slightly. This slope is very snow-assured right through to March, being located at 1500 metres altitude.
Hotel Taurerwirt is an option for a refreshment stop. The access points are shown on the slope panoramic display board at Hotel Taurerwirt in Kals/Taurer.
The entrance area to the slope is directly at the car park at Matreier Tauernhaus. This easily manageable slope proceeds across streams, bridges and through a romantic section of woodland. The loop-shaped route of Matrei’s slope means that there is a wide variety of routes. Excellent for young and old alike!
You will find the best conditions for endurance training on the moderately difficult „Isel slope“. Initially the slope proceeds up the river, after a kilometre it goes over the bridge and back on the other side of the river. At the 2.2 kilometre point there is the option of shortening the circuit, otherwise the proceeds on the flat through a section of forest to the turning point. Cross the bridge, following the Isel upstream to the starting point.
The panorama slope is at the head of the valley and provides a superb view to the glacier mountains of the Maurertal. The start is in Ströden and proceeds initially via a large car park through a natural section of forest to the Mauerer-Alm bridge. From here, the route climbs slightly and proceeds via the broad pasture land back to the starting point. The panorama slope is lovely to tackle from "Mariä Lichtmess" (2nd February) thanks to its sunny location.
