Iseltal cycle trail

The Iseltal cycle trail is still a real insider tip; it proceeds along the only, untamed glacial river in Austria. From Lienz shuttles run on request to Matrei, 27 kilometres away, which is located at 975 metres altitude, at the foot of the Felbertauern and which opens up the special idyll of this high alpine summer realm. The cycle trail meanders through little mountain villages past the Kienburg Castle Ruins, through St. Johann am Walde to Matrei. From Matrei a new cycle trail proceeds via Virgen to Ströden. In combination with the Pebellalm MTB route there is a continuous link from Matrei to the Umbal Falls, away from the traffic-filled roads.
