Mountain climbers can confidently consider themselves “Alpinists”. These more or less bold contemporaries master mountains by climbing or hiking, cross glaciers, and share one thing: the climbing rope. In former times, they used to call themselves ‘mountain rovers’. At a late hour, their hymn (...mit Seil und Haken alles zu wagen...) is still sung in mountain huts. The thrill to climb mountains and look down into mist-shrouded valleys from the summit still lives on today. Especially in the Lienz Dolomites, limestone mountains with partly grotesque-looking buttes. The most famous mountain of this group certainly is the Große Laserzwand.
The Böse Weibele is a wonderful viewing mountain in the Deferegger Alps.
