To observe the largest and also the shyest big game in the Alps up close in its natural habitat, you have to get up early. At dawn, we will head over the Zirbensteig to the wildlife observation tower in the furthest Defereggental valley. Deer are most active late in the evening, at night, and early in the morning. They spend the day sleeping and ruminating in cover. It is an impressive sight when they appear in the telescope. In addition to deer and roe deer, you can also spot chamois, and occasionally a golden eagle may show up. Afterwards, we will head together to the national park hut in the Oberhauser larch forest, where everyone can enjoy their own breakfast in a cozy atmosphere. Tea or coffee will be provided. An extremely exciting morning ends with a pleasant gathering in the hut.
