"Pool" - concert by the band HI5

The band HI5, founded in Tyrol – consisting of Chris Norz (drums and percussion), Philipp Ossanna (guitar), Matthias Legner (vibraphone), and Clemens Rofner (bass) – demonstrates its great courage towards consistency with their seventh album "Pool." After eventful years with concerts and tours in China, India, Japan, the USA, Canada, and Mexico, HI5 spent two years collaborating with the radio.string.quartet and the Jazz Orchestra of Tyrol.

This creative energy was continued by the band in September 2023 during a residency in the Tyrolean mountains, where the new album POOL was created. The sound aesthetics of HI5 have been further refined: There are absolutely no compromises when it comes to the enormous attention to detail or the eccentricity that hides in the seemingly conventional and, fueled by the band’s cohesion, takes unexpected twists in songs and tracks leading to unforeseen directions. The members effortlessly draw upon their respective sound palettes to create a sound that is easy to listen to yet almost immediately leads into the depths of complex sound worlds.

The quartet casually transcends all genre boundaries. The four Tyroleans combine electronic music, minimal music, alternative pop, and jazz into a new whole. The result is an absolutely captivating band sound with incredible dynamics. With their new album "Pool," the band once again proves that instrumental music can deeply resonate.
