Thanks to the altitude of its location, the track on the Staller Sattel (Passo Stalle) offers the possibility to ski till late spring. Particularly romantic people will enjoy skiing on the floodlit 3 km track in St. Jakob. An annual highlight is the race “Deferegger-Schwarzach-Langlaufrennen”.
Schwarzachlauf
This race, together with other famous classical Cross-country skiing competitions – such as the “Ganghoferlauf” in Leutasch, the “Ramsauer Volkslanglauf” or the “International Tauernlauf” in Altermarkt – is part of the ATOMIC-TROPHY. For 27 years professional and hobby Cross-country skiers have been meeting to run this race in the charming scenery of the Defereggen Valley.
On the well-prepared tracks at St. Veit skiers race in different categories according to age and distance. They can choose their level and profile among the three offered routes: the “Internationaler Schwarzachlauf”, the “Gedächtnislauf” and the “Mini-Schwarzlachlauf” for children.
The marvellous tracks along the picturesque Schwarzachbach stream and the demanding route running up and down hill make this race a happening not only for the participants, but also for the spectators.
