Family nest Hochpustertal
Where Gnome-nickels are official currency

Mountain lakes, gentle slopes, rustic alpine farms – in Hochpustertal parents can spend unforgettable summer holidays with their children.

Alpine meadows accessible by off-road prams, relaxed cycling tours and plenty of water beckoning to splash about: Those who want to enjoy alpine summer with the family, have come to the right place in Hochpustertal, the gentle front yard of the Dolomites.

"We bank on holidays with – and not by – the children", stresses Otto Trauner, East Tyrol's regional manager for Hochpustertal, which impresses with a great concept as a founding member of the Tirolean family nests. Many hotels and B&Bs here meet the stringent Nestpartner-criteria and offer the perfect holiday home, from baby food and children's menus to highchairs and playrooms all the way to child-friendly service. The hosts will be happy to offer help and advice when it comes to planning the next day: Where can you get with a pram? Where is the best mountain stream to build a dam?

Of course, the water playground in the Gnome Park in Sillian is also ideally suited for splashing about. The lovingly designed adventure playground with log cabins, a spectacular tube slide and climbing walls also offers a BBQ-station where the parents can cook up a storm. Admission is free. Only minigolf and the high ropes course are subject to a fee – where children as young as three years old can practice with their parents.

Wichtelpark Sillian
