The Hochstein west of Lienz is a walking area for all the family also in summer. The two chair-lifts take you up the mountain and on the way you find a small zoo with animals you can pet.
In the North are located the spurs of the National Park Hohe Tauern with the possibility to tour over 3.000 m in height.
With the cable car you can reach Zettersfeld and then continue with a 4-chair-lift up to a height of 2.280 m. From here you can start wonderful walks or more demanding mountain tours.
BIKING À LA LIENZ
No matter if you would like to explore the mountains on a mountain bike, or prefer to amble along the rivers Drau and Isel on a bicycle, in the Lienzer Dolomites all bikers find something suitable. Easy daily tracks around the town of Lienz offer fun for all the family, who can amble always slightly downhill. Lienz is in the middle of the Drau Cycle Path. More ambitious bike riders can follow the trail of “Giro d’Italia”, the “Giro d’Austria” via Großglockner Road or the route through the Dolomites.
